Department of Public Safety and Security
We are proud to serve and protect the USciences community, and to uphold the rights and values of our students, faculty, staff, and residents of the surrounding University City neighborhood. Our Public Safety officers work in tandem with the Philadelphia Police Department to patrol campus and offer courteous and professional assistance to USciences community members 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Our green and modern Philadelphia campus is equipped with overlapping security systems to provide a safe yet smooth student experience.
The best way to ensure the safety of all USciences community members is report any and all instances of crime or suspicious activity.
USciences is proud of our safety record and our policy of total transparency. Access the daily crime log to get a detailed look at campus and neighborhood statistics.
From crime prevention seminars to a self-defense and awareness program, Public Safety provides excellent tools for safety education.
In addition to the door-to-door Penn Shuttle system and reliable Penn Bus systems, Public Safety will provide a walking escort to and from any campus location 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
To protect the safety of all community members, USciences does not allow weapons of any kind on campus without express written permission of Public Safety.
The campus-wide Emergency Notification System will alert all USciences community members in the event of an emergency. Learn more about our general evacuation plan and shelter in place policy.
