Department of Occupational Therapy - Chair’s Message

Thank you for your interest in the Occupational Therapy Department at University of the Sciences. Our department has been a groundbreaker since its creation twenty years ago with an entry-level Masters education and, more recently, as the first entry level doctoral program on the East Coast, in Pennsylvania. Our department is one of innovation and leadership. We work with our students to support the development of the skill sets of innovation and leadership, not only in the occupational therapy community, but in the healthcare marketplace as well.

Our programs include hands-on learning reflective of the role occupational therapy has in supporting people’s engagement in the life they want to lead. Our original and evolving faculty research explores teaching, technology, political action. Engaging partners such as cancer survivors, oppressed refugees, children and their families, and older adults, affords our students opportunities to engage in novel research, as well as, learn from strong academic and therapy practice role models.

USciences OT faculty brings a wealth of clinical experience to the learning environment. We have a number of leaders in the profession to support you in your learning process, here to not only guide you, but also to cheer you on! Our department is a community committed to quality education, in a supportive environment, that recognizes the strengths you bring to your future roles as occupational therapists.

Thank you again for your interest and we look forward to engaging with you.
