Industrial Pharmacy Lab (IPHL):

The Philadelphia College of Pharmacy Industrial Pharmacy Laboratory provides a broad spectrum of capabilities such as:

  • Preformulation
  • Formulation development
  • Controlled/sustained release dosage form development
  • Drug delivery systems development
  • Analytical method development and validation

West Center For Computational Chemistry and Drug Design:

The "West Center" is focused on the application of computational methods to chemical and biological problems, as well as on the development of more powerful computational tools to improve the ability of these methods to produce real world answers. Our expertise includes Computer Aided Drug Design (CADD), Bioinformatics, Structure Activity Relationship (SAR), Computational Method Development and Application (CMDA), Molecular Dynamics of Biological and Chemical Processes (MDBCP), and Quantum Mechanics (QM).

USciences Bioimaging capabilities include:

Chemistry Resources:

The current capabilities of the Analytical Services division include:

  • Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) – 1H, 13C, 19F, 31P, 11B; 1-D and all common 2-D spectra; variable temperature
  • Mass Spectrometry (MS) – nominal and high resolution; various ionization techniques
  • Surface Analysis – atomic force microscopy, ellipsometry, contact angle measurements
  • Spectroscopic Characterization – Ultra-Violet/Visible, Infra-Red, Fluorescence, and Raman spectroscopy, including in microplate format
  • Calorimetry – isothermal titration and differential scanning
  • Chromatography – high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), Gas chromatography (GC), Gel Permeation Chromatography (GPC)

The current capabilities of the Cell Culture division include:

  • Mammalian Cell Culture – Large-capacity CO2 incubation
