Pharmaceutical Industry and Education Fellowship Programs

The post-PharmD Pharmaceutical Industry and Education Fellowship Program at USciences Philadelphia College of Pharmacy (PCP) provides each fellow with experiential training in both industry and academic settings. The program offers opportunities to work with and learn from industry professionals across medical information and regulatory affairs in both the pharmaceutical and consumer health sectors.

Students transfer core knowledge into practical application while honing business and clinical skills to enhance professional value in pursuit of a career in the industry.

Medical Information-Regulatory Affairs

McNeil Consumer Healthcare Division,  Johnson & Johnson Consumer Inc.

The McNeil Consumer Healthcare Division of J&J Consumer Inc. offers a one-year post-graduate fellowship in medical information and regulatory affairs. With management approval, the fellow may extend the fellowship for an additional year in pursuit of additional specialized training.

Janssen Scientific Affairs Division of Janssen Pharmaceuticals offers a two-year post-graduate fellowship that provides advanced skill training in medical information (MI), medical communications and clinical practice. The fellowship program provides opportunities to translate complex scientific information into unbiased medical content that supports the safe and effective use of Janssen products. The two-year fellowship is divided into three rotations that build upon core skills and competencies.

Global Regulatory Affairs

Johnson & Johnson Consumer, Inc.

This 2-year fellowship offered by J&J Consumer Inc. is focused in the global regulatory affairs area. The fellowship offers opportunities to apply regulatory processes to a variety of global products across the over-the-counter (OTC) medical device, oral care and skincare product lines. Fellows have opportunities to work with a variety of regulatory affairs professionals as well as and engage with a number of other cross-functional areas such as Professional Engagement, Medical Affairs, and Pharmacovigilance.

Additional Fellowship Activities

  • Faculty appointment: Clinical Instructor of Pharmacy in the Department of Pharmacy Practice and Pharmacy Administration at Philadelphia College of Pharmacy, Philadelphia PA
  • Teaching certificate program: gain experience in small group teaching, didactic lecture and CPE presentation
  • Collaborate with faculty & industry mentors to develop IRB-approved research project from idea generation through data collection & scientific dissemination
  • Participate in ongoing fellowship recruitment activities
  • Participate and engage in professional development activities and workshops

Benefits & Compensation

The fellowship provides a competitive stipend and benefits package, including comprehensive health, disability, and life insurance package, tuition remission and reimbursement, health care, dependent care and transit reimbursement accounts.  Expense reimbursement for business travel to professional conferences is provided.
