Pharmacology and Toxicology Major - Experiential Opportunities

Teamwork is an essential part of the pharmacology and toxicology curriculum, and you’ll collaborate closely with faculty and with fellow students in class and in the research lab:

  • A classroom experience that provides a solid foundation in the basic sciences, laying the groundwork for learning the broad range of theoretical and practical aspects that comprise pharmacology and toxicology.
  • Intense research work in the laboratory that provides experience with some of the commonly used instrumentation and techniques in the biomedical sciences and equips you with the tools necessary to identify problems and create solutions.
  • Supervised independent research with highly qualified faculty during the third and fourth years of study.
  • You will polish your oral and written communication skills through seminars and group or individual projects.
  • Available minors in biochemistry, chemistry, mathematics, forensics, bioinformatics, computer science, writing, humanities, and psychology.

Additionally, professional and scientific affiliations enrich the educational experience by providing you with the chance to learn from and network with those in their field.
