PPE Donation CollectionDuring the COVID-19 pandemic, USciences faculty and staff have collected personal protective equipment (PPE) from across campus to donate to healthcare institutions in Philadelphia. With the help of the Philadelphia Office of Emergency Management, the donated PPE was picked up on April 3, 2020, to be distributed across the city to those working on the front lines in healthcare.

USciences collected over 69,000 pieces of PPE including gloves, N95 masks, protective suits, and more from across campus. This effort was largely organized by Public Safety Director Michael Lapotasky.

PPE Donation Collection“The response has been tremendous and is another reminder as to why this is such a special place,” says David Forde, Vice President for Community and Government Affairs.

While it appears that the supplies on campus have been exhausted, Forde said that if more items are found to be donated they will gladly coordinate its collection and distribution.
