Delaware Valley Science Fairs Winners Present Research at USciences

Delaware Valley Science Fair Winners' BreakfastWinners of the 71st Delaware Valley Science Fairs had another opportunity to show off their research during a winners’ breakfast at USciences on April 19. High school students who placed first, second or third in the fair showed up to present their posters and explain their research.

Students from Southeastern Pennsylvania, Southern New Jersey and Delaware had an opportunity to present to faculty and staff as well as local media members. Posters ranged from microplastics found in deep sea scallops and the effect of temperature on the filtration efficiency of mussels to enhancing American Beachgrass growth on dunes and developing a non-reliance posture trainer.

USciences provided scholarship money to the top winners who placed out of more than 1,000 entries in the DVSF. Those students also received an expenses paid trip to Phoenix, AZ where they will compete for more scholarships and prizes in the INTEL International Science and Engineering Fair in May.
