Gerald F. Smith Named Program Director for Graduate Physician Assistant Studies Program

Gerald SmithUniversity of the Sciences named Gerald F. Smith MS, MPH, PA-C, program director for the master of science in physician assistant studies program. Smith has 15 years of clinical experience as a physician assistant. He has practiced in the areas of primary care, internal medicine, emergency medicine/urgent care, and neurology. 

Smith was selected by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services as a National Health Service Corps scholar and served as a primary care physician assistant in a medically under-served community in rural Alabama for five years. 

He joined USciences in 2015 as an assistant professor in the PA program. Prior to joining the USciences, he was on the faculty of the physician assistant program at Philadelphia University, where he also served as interim clinical coordinator.

Smith received his master of science in physician assistant studies from Philadelphia University. He has also earned a master of public health from the Medical College of Pennsylvania-Hahnemann University and a bachelor of science in health sciences from Hahnemann University.
