2017 Race for HumanityRunners, walkers, and supporters of USciences’ 11th Annual Race for Humanity will make the summer special for two children in need.

The charity event, which benefited the Muscular Dystrophy Association and drew 50-plus participants, raised more than $1,800 this year.

“I am so excited about the amount we raised,” said Kaitlyn Bailey PharmD’18. “This means that we raised enough money to send two children to camp!”

The MDA sponsors a summer camp that costs $800 per child. With support from the USciences community, two children will now be able to attend summer camp for free.

Hosted by Omega Chi Psi, the race as well as activities such as LulaRoe, Plush Organ and Chick-Fil-A sales, contributed to the total.
