Dr. Namrata Grampurohit Named Assistant Professor of Occupational Therapy at USciences

Namrata GrampurohitNamrata Grampurohit, PhD, OTR/L, has been named assistant professor of occupational therapy at University of the Sciences in Philadelphia. She comes to the University with several years of clinical experience in acute care and inpatient rehabilitation at Evergreen Hospital, Kirkland, Wash. She has also worked in multiple different settings such as skilled nursing care, home healthcare, and school-based therapy. 

Dr. Grampurohit's research interests include development and validation of assessment tools and innovative rehabilitation interventions. She has developed a new measure of upper limb function for people with neurological conditions and is currently working on its validation at USciences. She also continues to collaborate with a team of engineers on virtual rehabilitation and robotics research to bring innovative rehabilitation interventions to the clinic after in-depth research. 

Dr. Grampurohit earned her PhD in Rehabilitation Science from the University of Washington in Seattle, Wash. She earned both her master of science and bachelor of science degrees in occupational therapy from the University of Mumbai, India. Originally from Mumbai, she currently resides in Princeton, N.J. with her husband Kapil, and their two children, Neil and Keya. In her spare time Dr. Grampurohit enjoys spending time with her family, working out at the gym, and listening to Indian music.
