Pre-Health Professions Program - Advising

Dr. Rajan received her PhD in Developmental and Biological Psychology from Virginia Tech. She joined the Department of Behavioral and Social Sciences in 2015 and served the University as Psychology and Neuroscience professor, mentor, and research advisor. In 2021 she was appointed to the Misher College of Arts and Sciences Dean’s office as Pre-Health Director. Dr. Rajan’s teaching and advising have made significant contributions to pre-health students. She developed a new course, PS 111: Principles of Psychology, designed to prepare students for professional school (MCAT) entrance exam content. She has also helped coach students for professional school interviews through her role on the Pre-Health Advisory Committee. As Pre-Health Director, she is committed to providing the best possible counsel to help align students with their interests, finding educational and experiential opportunities to encourage growth both in and out of the classroom, and helping students develop a proactive plan to become competitive applicants for health professional programs.
