Our diverse and accomplished faculty make it possible by training students in writing, the fundamentals of research in the humanities, and the basics of the fine arts. Our commitment to the humanities and developing well-rounded students complements the University’s expertise in the health sciences.

By sponsoring lectures, concerts, and many other special events that showcase the best of the humanities, our department serves the entire University community.

    The Board of the Charles E. Kaufman Foundation, a supporting organization of The Pittsburgh Foundation, has awarded 10 scientific research grants totaling $1.9 million, including $200,000 to USciences and Roberto Ramos, PhD, and Margaret Pearce, PhD.
