Legacy Society Seating and Photo Opportunity

At USciences, legacy is defined as any individual – University student or alumnus – with a familial connection to another University student or alumnus, including those related by marriage.

Alumni Relations is pleased to celebrate the long-standing tradition of generations of families who have attended University of the Sciences in Philadelphia with our Legacy Society.

We would like to offer seating in the reserved section to Legacy Society guests of our graduates.

If any of your guests – parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins or siblings – are alumni of USciences, then your party is eligible for Legacy Seating in the Reserved Section.

Please send an email to Casey Ryan, Director of Alumni Relations, ca.ryan@usciences.edu with the following information:

    • Your parent’s name
    • Legacy Society member’s name (if not one of your parents)
    • Number of guests in the party

With this information, we will be able to guarantee space in the Reserved Section for your guests and follow up with the timing for our legacy photo with your family.

The Legacy Society members are welcome to attend the Baccalaureate Ceremony as well as attend the Legacy Society photo opportunity after the end of the service.

    Alumni Networking - Nexus

On the benefits of being an alumnus/a of the University of the Sciences is the access to the Alumni Network. The networking portal, Nexus, is available to you to use for job searches, for finding mentorship opportunities and for locating your alumni peers in your field.

Visit our site and log in (using LinkedIn is the most recommended way to join.)

    International Guests

The U.S. Department of State does not deem it necessary or even useful to present a letter of invitation from USciences when family members or friends are applying for a U.S. tourist visa. You can find guidance on assisting your family member’s application for a U.S. tourist visa.

Since the purpose of a tourist visa directly involves a visit to you, it will be beneficial if you provide your family and friends with a “Letter of Invitation” written by you. We advise that you include an Enrollment Verification Letter and an unofficial transcript, both available through the Academics tab in Workday.

    Regalia: Caps and Gowns

The website is now open and accepting orders for your cap and gown. The deadline to order is Tuesday, March 22, 2022.   There is no cost to graduates to place an order and regalia will ship directly to USciences.  Graduates will receive a confirmation email from Oak Hall after placing their order.

    Order Regalia Now

USciences provides a mortarboard style hat, gown, and hood.  Graduates receiving a doctoral degree may wear a Tam style hat, it must be black and have either six or eight sides. USciences will not provide Tam style hats and they would need to be purchased separately by the graduate.

Regalia will be distributed at the Graduate Fair on Wednesday, May 4, 2022, in the Athletic Recreation Center Multipurpose Room. Additionally, it will be available for pick up the morning of Commencement in the Graduates Line Up Area at the Liacouras Center.

    Diploma Distribution

Diplomas will not be distributed at the ceremony.  Diplomas will be mailed directly to the degree recipients approximately four to six weeks after the ceremony.  Please make sure your preferred mailing address is correct in Workday.

    Minors

Students who anticipate graduating with a minor should check with their program director and/or department chair to verify completion of the minor.

    Photographs

Professional photographs will be taken during the event.
