Writing Professor's Book Nominated for Award

Approaches to Teaching Tolkien's Lord of the Rings and Other Works, to which Justin Everett PhD contributed, has been named a finalist for the 2017 Mythopoeic Scholarship Award in Inklings Studies.

Dr. Everett is director of writing programs at USciences and was a contributor to the collection, which is one of five finalists for the award given out by the Mythopoeic Society, which studies J.R.R. Tolkein and his contemporaries.

Approaches to Teaching Tolkien's Lord of the Rings and Other Works, looks to inform instructors of the rich array of resources available including criticism of his fiction and historical material on his life and times. It also touches on the critical debates around Tolkien's work, its influence, and its connection to ecology, religion, and science.
