USciences Students Attend ASCP Conference

Several USciences students recently attended the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists (ASCP) Mid-Atlantic Conference held in Baltimore, Maryland. The students are members of the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy student chapter of ASCP and were involved in planning, presenting, and participating in the professional development track on August 5.
Two USciences physical therapy students, Chiamaka Akumuo and Tram Tran, were featured in a video presentation on interprofessional education at the conference.
Lalitha Sukumar, president of PCP student ASCP was also part of the planning for this conference which was attended by students from 10 pharmacy schools along with ASCP pharmacist members.
“What a great opportunity for our students to engage in networking with other pharmacy students and health care professionals from the region,” said Laura Finn, BCGP, associate professor of pharmacy practice and the PCP ASCP chapter advisor. Finn also presented at the conference. “Topics included residency preparation, interviewing, networking and interprofessional education along with geriatric medication management."
