USciences Professor Lead Effort to Update Clinical Practice Guidelines

Published on April 20, 2018

A team led by David Logerstedt PT, PhD, MPT, MS, a physical therapist and faculty of the University of the Sciences, the clinical practice guidelines regarding the best current practice of orthopaedic physical therapy for ligament strains, and meniscal and articular cartilage lesions were recently updated and published.

For their update, Dr. Logerstedt and colleagues from the USA, Norway, and Australia focused on finding the best existing evidence from more than 2,200 published articles for diagnosis/classification, differential diagnosis, examination, and treatment options to decrease pain, improve mobility and function, and return patients to previous activities.

Produced by the Orthopaedic Section of the American Physical Therapy Association the guidelines are used by orthopaedic physical therapists, academic instructors, clinical instructors, students and patients.
