USciences Faculty and Staff Give Presentations

Elizabeth Speakman, EdD, RN, CDE, FNAP, ANEF, FAAN, Associate Provost for Interprofessional Education,
was invited to deliver a workshop on Interprofessional Education and Collaborative
Practice at Lippincott Nursing Education Inaugural Innovation Summit in New Orleans,
LA.
Karin Richards PhD'17, MS, ACSM, ACE CPT-GFI and George Downs PharmD'72 presented at the Pennsylvania Pharmacist Association Mid-Year Meeting in Lancaster, PA. Richards presented “Screening, Brief Intervention, Referral for Treatment and Motivational Interviewing.”
Karin Richards PhD’17, MS, ACSM, ACE CPT-GFI, and Barb Kellar, DPT presented at the eLearning 3.0 Conference hosted at USciences. Dr. Richards and Dr. Kellar discussed the impact of 3D printing on interprofessional teams.
Thea Zunick, EdD, director of student life, presented at NASPA’s International Conference in
Philadelphia. The program, for student affairs administrators in higher education,
marked the organization’s 100th anniversary. Dr. Zunick presented twice, first in
a presentation titled “Stop Trying to Balance Life. Start Your Quest for Fulfillment:
Success Strategies of #sapros.” She also presented “The Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity
RLC: Is it a Solution to the Behavioral and Academic Performance Problems in Fraternities?”
which included a final presentation of her doctoral dissertation research.
Jason Heindl, PhD, visited Maplewood Middle School in Maplewood, NJ to discuss his career as a microbiologist. Dr. Heindl spoke with the 7th grade biology students about microbiology and performed a hands-on activity with hem to help them grow microbes.
