USciences co-hosted the second annual Philly Phage Phestival for local undergraduates
that participate in Howard Hughes Medical Institute's SEA-PHAGES program.
Ninety-one students, faculty, and staff attended the day-long scientific conference that featured student posters, a keynote address by HHMI professor Dr. Graham Hatfull, and break-out sessions.
Seventeen USciences students were in attendance and presented 7 posters. Danielle Taylor BI’21 and Stephany Romero BMS’21 won third prize in the poster competition, and Pallavi Kawatra Neuro’21 won first. Taylor, Romero, and Kawatra conducted the research presented in USciences’ first-year SEA-PHAGES course last year.
