Three USciences Physics Majors Present Research Papers at APS Mid-Atlantic Section Conference

They were accompanied by their research mentor Associate Professor of Physics Dr. Roberto Ramos. Despina Nakos Phys'20 presented "Student Responses to a Flipped Physics
Class Environment with Built-in Feedback Quizzes", Caitlyn McConnell Phys'18 presented "Optimizing Sample
Preparation for Soft Point Contact Spectroscopy of Iron Pnictude Crystals" and Oberon
Wackwitz Phys'18 presented "Measuring the Superconducting Energy Gaps of Doped Iron
Pnictide Superconductors Ba_(1-x) K_x Fe_2 A_2 using Soft Point Contact Spectroscopy".
The three physics majors were awarded a $250 travel grant from the conference organizers.
