Students, Faculty Participate in Virtual Kids Camp
Published on July 15, 2021
USciences students and faculty participated in Camp Dreamcatcher. The camp, which was held virtually for the 2020 event, is for children ages 5-17 with HIV/AIDS. Students provided educational sessions for the campers, including powerpoint presentation, games, scavenger hunts, and more.
Sessions were held by age group and included topics such as “Stay Clean with Hygiene” for campers age 6-7, “Nutrition” for campers age 8-10, and “COVID-19” for campers age 11-15 as well as a session for parents.
“The children and young adults were engaged and interactive in these educational sessions,” shares Sondra Schultz, Experiential Field Supervisor at USciences’ Philadelphia College of Pharmacy. “It was a success despite the circumstances.”
Five USciences students participated in this camp as part of their required Advanced Pharmacy PRactice Experience (APPE).
