PT, OT Present at Teaching & Learning Conference

Students and faculty presented at the Temple Teaching and Learning Conference in January, including some who earned awards for their work. 

A team of students led by faculty Mike Knapp, DPT, assistant professor of physical therapy, and Eric Folkins, DPT, assistant professor of physical therapy won second place for their poster entitled “Comparison of student manipulation performance following simulation and standard training.”

Shaun Varrecchia, DPT, assistant professor of physical therapy, also co-presented his team’s research on the use of standardized patients to enhance student learning outcomes at interprofessional education experience with faculty including Carol Maritz, EdD, professor of physical therapy, Megan Strauss, MS, OTR/L, assistant professor of occupational therapy, and Colleen Maher, OTD, OTR/L, associate professor of occupational therapy. 

Shelly Lewis, DPT, assistant professor of physical therapy, also had two presentations including a poster entitled “Perspectives of Professional Behavior from Students, Faculty, and Professionals” and a lightning round presentation titled “Taking the Class Pulse with the Dilemma of the Day.”
