Professor Talks Merging Classics and STEM Curriculums

Clifford Robinson, PhD, professor of classics at USciences, recently delivered a talk at the joint annual meeting of the Archaeological Institute of America and the Society of Classical Studies.

Dr. Robinson’s talk, entitled “Designing a STEM-Friendly Classics Curriculum”, focused on how instructors can confront the “two cultures” dividing the sciences from the humanities, in order to promote Classical Studies through engagement with STEM fields.

Dr. Robinson shared his design of a vertically designed undergraduate curriculum, which gives a central place to ancient Mediterranean scientific and medical culture, while still including the traditional hallmarks of Classics pedagogy.
