Pharmacy Students, Faculty, Alumni Attend PPA Conference

USciences students, faculty, and alumni attended the Pennsylvania Pharmacists Association Annual Conference this month. The conference held in Lancaster, PA, included continuing education courses, presentations and an awards dinner.
Elizabeth Harris PharmD, Assistant Professor of Clinical Pharmacy and Karleen Melody PharmD, Associate Professor of Clinical presented "CE: Developing a Community Pharmacy Technician-Driven Transitions of Care Program."
Andrew M. Peterson, PharmD, PhD, Executive Director, Substance Use Disorders Institute, John Wyeth Dean Emeritus Professor of Clinical Pharmacy and Professor of Health Policy presented "CE: Medical Cannabis in PA - A Growing Future for Pharmacists." Substance Use Disorders Institute also offered a medical cannabis certificate program in connection with the conference.
George Downs, PharmD and Daniel Ventricelli, PharmD helped to present "CE: Revive, Survive, and Keep Alive: How Pharmacists Impact Care Across the Addiction Spectrum."
USciences’ Office of Alumni Relations also hosted the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy Dessert Reception for alumni, faculty, and students in attendance.
Dan Hussar P'62, MS’64, PhD’67, professor emeritus, was awarded the Mortar and Pestle at the conference’s Leadership & Awards Dinner.
