PCP Hosts 3rd Annual Central High School Day Virtually

USciences Philadelphia College of Pharmacy (PCP) held it’s 3rd annual Central High School (CHS) Day virtually in December 2020. A group of P4 pharmacy students, 5 of which being Central High School alums, spoke to five of the high school’s biology classes.
CHS students began each session by participating in a quiz to match the student with the pharmacy career most suited for them. From there, PCP students described the pharmacy profession and discussed the numerous career options available. PCP students completed their formal presentations with an informational video and discussion about the role of naloxone in the event of an opioid overdose.
Each session ended with a Q&A where PCP students shared why they chose pharmacy, how CHS prepared them for their time at USciences, and offered advice to current CHS students potentially interested in pharmacy.
“We are so grateful to be able to continue the USciences/Central High School relationship even during this pandemic,” shares Laura Waite, PharmD, associate professor of clinical pharmacy. “We look forward to bringing the Central High School students back on campus once it is safe to do so.”
