Faculty and students in USciences neuroscience and biology departments have had a case study accepted by the National Center for Case Study Teaching in Science.

Grace Farber PhD, pre-health director and associate professor of biological sciences, Wasim Anwar MBBS, assistant professor of biological sciences, Amrik Gill BMS’20, and Hayden Sando Neuro’20 helped to develop the case study entitled “Suzy’s Misdiagnosis,” which presents students with a patient scenario and allows them to learn about neurological disorders through problem-solving.

“The students worked over the summer to write the case study, submit it, and respond to reviewer comments,” said Dr. Farber.

Gill and Sando designed a case study that will offer students material to better learn through examining a scenario. The case study was accepted for publication and will be distributed via print materials and on the web for use in the classroom.
