Banned Books Week On September 30, 2020, USciences’ students celebrated Banned Books Week and the freedom to read with Caitlin Angelone, Access Services Librarian at the J.W. England Library. Angelone drew attention to examples of controversial banned and challenged books throughout American history.

She also highlighted the authors and the persecution that they received for their written work. Students and faculty discussed the dangers of censorship and book banning in learning. The presentation included information about the collection of banned books that USciences has in the library! USciences is dedicated to making sure students have access to any and all books to promote the freedom of reading.
