Published on August 12, 2019

Cristina Hanganu-Bresch, PhD, assistant director of writing programs, recently had an article published in Medical Humanities (a BMJ journal) entitled “Orthorexia: eating right in the context of healthism.”

The article stems from a fellowship with the Brother Foundation in Switzerland which Dr. Hanganu-Bresch participated in in the summer of 2018.  She had the opportunity to work on research around Orthorexia, a newly proposed eating disorder defined as an obsession with eating right.

During the fellowship, she was able to engage in dialogue about various issues with researchers from a variety of fields in an effort to promote indterdisciplinarity and collaboration.
