Gail Groves Scott to Lecture About Drug Use by Older Adults, April 11, 2018

Gail Groves Scott, manager of the Substance Use Disorders Institute at USciences, will give a lecture about older people and their use of drugs at The College of Physicians on April 11, 2018 as part of their Senior Health Forum Lunchtime Lectures.

Scott will discuss how the demographics of substance use in the U.S. have changed, and how the use of illicit drugs by older adults is a hidden, but fast growing, health problem. Projections estimate that the number of people aged over 50 needing treatment will grow to 4.4 million by 2020 in the U.S.
