First SEA-PHAGES Class Graduates from USciences

In May, the first class of the SEA-PHAGES (Science Education Alliance-Phage Hunters Advancing Genomics and Evolutionary Science) program graduated.

In 2017, the program was expanded due to its popularity. SEA-PHAGES is a two semester program open to first-year students that focuses on extracting and analyzing viruses from soil samples.SEA-PHAGES 2019 Grads

  • Rita-Anne Falconio BMS’19 – Temple podiatry school
  • Shivsai Gongalla BMS’19 – Cooper Medical School
  • Alexis Schirling BMS’19 – NIH (HIV lab)
  • Trey Hillard MB’19 – 2nd Lieutenant, Company Training Officer, TRADOC Cadet Command
  • Paulina Koyfman MB’19 – interested in microbiology research
