Christine Flanagan, MFA, professor of English at USciences, had her recent book “The Letters of Flannery O’Connor and Caroline Gordon” reviewed for the American Literary History Online Review (ALH) and the FORMA review.
“Christine Flanagan provides an important commentary on the growing mentorship and friendship which unfolds over the course of the correspondence,” writes reviewer Monica Miller of Middle Georgia State University for ALH.
The book was published by the University of Georgia Press in 2018 and features correspondence between Flannery O'Connor and novelist Caroline Gordon, whose critiques not only fostered O’Connor's career but occasioned a series of letters full of insights about the craft of writing.
