DPT Student Wins PPTA Student Leadership Award

Casey McCarthy DPT'21Casey McCarthy, DPT’21, has been selected as the winner of the Pennsylvania Physical Therapy Association (PPTA) Student Leadership Award.

This award is presented to a current physical therapy student in Pennsylvania for their excellence and dedication to the field of physical therapy. McCarthy is heavily involved in various physical therapy organizations, serving as a PPTA Student Board Observer, as well as the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) Pennsylvania Core Ambassador. McCarthy is also a Task Force Volunteer for the American Council of Academic Physical Therapy (ACAPT), and is a recipient of the 2020 USciences Emerging Leader Award

“I am honored to be awarded this recognition by the PPTA.” shares McCarthy. “My involvement with this organization over the past year has exposed me to the multiple dimensions of the PPTA and continues my desire to stay involved post-graduation. I look forward to many years of involvement at the national and state-level as I continue my career”
