Department of Physical Therapy Represents USciences at National Meeting

Through presentations and awards, USciences Department of Physical Therapy was well represented at the American Physical Therapy Association’s (APTA) national Combined Sections Meeting in February and at the 18th Annual Temple Teaching and Learning Conference on January 7th.
Students from the 2020 graduating class won second place for best poster at the 18th Annual Temple Teaching and Learning Conference. The students, who were mentored by Mike Knapp, DPT,and Eric Folkins,DPT, presented their research on “Comparison of Student Manipulation Performance Following Stimulation and Standard Training.”
Also at the Temple Teaching and Learning Conference, Shelly Lewis, DPT,presented during the lightning round portion. Dr. Lewis presented her findings titled “Taking the Class Pulse with the Dilemma of the Day.”
In addition, faculty and alumni were in attendance at the American Physical Therapy Association’s Combined Sections Meeting. Faculty members Eric Folkins, DPT, Anne Galgon, DPT, and Barb Kellar, DPT,all left with awards for their various accomplishments. Faculty were also active with presentations given by Dave Logerstedt, DPT,and Gregory Thielman, DPT.
Alumni also had some time in the spotlight at the Combined Sanctions Meeting, with six total research presentations given by members of the Class of 2019.
