CUR Hosts Seminar for Finding Funded Research Experiences

USciences Center for Undergraduate Research (CUR) recently hosted an event, “How to Apply for Funded Summer Research Experiences and Internships” with over 70 students in attendance.

The event featured information from Roberto Ramos PhD, sharing his advice with students on how to seek out and apply for both internally and externally funded research opportunities. Shanice James MLS’23 also spoke to attendees, sharing her experience. 

As a second year student, James successfully applied for and completed a National Science Foundation Summer Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) in Computational Biology at Sam Houston State University. She shared her advice on how to find, and make the most of, a funded research experience.
