Chemistry & Biochemistry Department Represents USciences at 12th Annual FCBIS Conference

Faculty and students at the 12th Annual Frontiers in Chemistry and Biology Interface SymposiumStudents and faculty from the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry participated in the 12th Annual Frontiers in Chemistry and Biology Interface Symposium (FCBIS) in Bethesda, MD on Friday, May 3, 2019.  The symposium was hosted by the National Cancer Institute; the USciences Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry was one of several academic sponsors. Conference participants included scientists from many mid-Atlantic universities and national laboratories.Presenting a research poster at the 12th Annual Frontiers in Chemistry and Biology Interface Symposium

Zhihong Wang PhD, assistant professor of chemistry and biochemistry, was an invited speaker. Her talk titled “Understanding How Cancer Cells Hijack the Non-Catalytic Function of BRAF to Drive ERK Signaling” highlighted the innovative research her lab has conducted during her first 4.5 years at the University. In addition, nine students from the Baird, Wang, Tomsho, and Adejare labs presented their research projects at the poster sessions.
