Breighanna Gonzalez Joins Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences

Breighanna Gonzalez was hired as a laboratory manager and research assistant by the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences in January.
The recent Montclair State University grad came to the University after serving as a Quality Control Technician at Purolite Corporation.
Gonzalez received her Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology, with a Minor in Chemistry, last spring. A National Society of Leadership and Success (Sigma Alpha Pi Chapter) inductee, she also presented research in the University’s Sigma Xi Research Symposia, while completing her research assistantship titled Characterization of 5, 10-methenyltetrahydrofolate and its degradation products.
After being awarded the Foerderer Fellowship for Graduate Study at Thomas Jefferson University’s College of Life Sciences, she fulfilled a laboratory internship in the Department of Translational Medicine last summer. She intends to pursue a graduate degree as a Pharmaceutical Sciences Research Fellow at Rowan University.
Gonzalez earned her Associate of Science in Chemistry from Warren County Community College, where she was a Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society inductee, while also receiving the New Jersey Institute of Chemists Student Award for Achievement and Foundation Director’s Award for Student Achievement.
The Plano, Texas native currently resides in Stratford, N.J. In addition to growing and collecting houseplants, she enjoys playing the piano, reading, and spending time with her family and fiancé.
