Biology Professor, Graduate Student Present at Crown Gall Conference

Jason E. Heindl, PhD, and John Pinto PhD’21 presented research at the 38th Annual Crown Gall Conference held at Oregon State University in October.

Dr. Heindl delivered an oral presentation on “Integration of biofilm formation and the cell cycle in Agrobacterium tumefaciens.”

Pinto, a second-year student in the Cell and Molecular Biology Ph.D. program, presented a poster, “What’s in YOUR biofilm? Confocal microscopy of A. tumefaciens biofilms.” He also received a competitive travel fellowship from the United States Department of Agriculture-Agriculture and Food Research Initiative to attend the conference.
