Bioinformatics Students get Experience at GSK Intern Program

Written by Nicole Carrera

USciences bioinformatics students Victoria Grant, MS’20, and Evan M. Rosa-Roseberry, MS’20, have each accepted six-month paid internship positions at GlaxoSmithKline’s Upper Providence site in Collegeville, PA.

For Grant, this position allows her to spend her time working with code for automation sample aliquoting, as well as working with programmers to help them analyze the large amount of data they have utilizing Spotfire.

Rosa-Roseberry works with differential gene expression analysis of a large transcriptomic data set corresponding to various biological perturbations. He is planning to develop ranked gene profiles for each unique perturbation. These profiles produce data which can then be used to foster the discovery of new chemical entities.
