Undergraduate and Transfer Advanced Placement and Credit Options

USciences recognizes AP, IB, CLEP, DSST, ECE, and Transfer credits which can give a student advanced standing.

Advanced Placement Credits

Please have your official AP Scores sent from College Board to USciences' Admission Office to be considered for advanced credit. Below are the AP Courses we will review, along with the necessary AP Score needed for credit.  Full list of the AP credit and equivalent USciences coursework accepted.

* Biology, Biomedical Sciences, Environmental Science, Microbiology, Medical Laboratory Science, Neuroscience, Pharmacy, PPEA, and Misher Pre-Professional majors require a score of 5 to receive college credit.

§ Chemistry, Biochemistry, and Pharmaceutical Chemistry majors require a score of 5 to receive college credits.

@ Neuroscience, Occupational Therapy, and Misher Pre-Professional majors require a score of 4 to receive college credit.

^ Physics majors are not eligible to receive college credits for Physics 1 & 2 and require a score of 5 to receive credits for Physics C.

+ Students must take both Physics 1 and Physics 2 to receive credit.

‡ Environmental Science majors are not eligible to receive college credit for AP environmental science

International Baccalaureate (IB Credit)

USciences offers advanced standing through the International Baccalaureate Programme (IB). IB Examination results will be evaluated on a course-by-course basis. Full list of the IB examinations USciences considers for credit.

  • Science & mathematics courses will require an IB exam score of 6 or 7 (HL level is required to receive credit for IB Chemistry)
  • Non-science / math courses will require an IB exam score of 5, 6, or 7

College-Level Exam Program (CLEP)

USciences awards credit for CLEP examinations in the subject areas of:

  • Business
  • Composition and Literature
  • Foreign Languages
  • History and Social Sciences
  • Science and Mathematics

A minimum score of 50  is needed to award credit on most examinations (a score of 64 or higher is required for Precalculus and Calculus). Some majors are not eligible to receive credit for CLEP examinations and some CLEP examinations are not accepted.  More specific information about CLEP examinations that are accepted by each program

DSST

USciences awards credit for DSST examinations in the subjec areas of:

  • Business
  • Humanities
  • Mathematics
  • Physical Science
  • Social Science
  • Technology

A minimum score of 400 is needed to award credit. Full list of the DSST examinations USciences considers for credit.

Excelsior College Examination (ECE)

USciences awards credit for ECE examinations in the subject areas of:

  • Business
  • Humanities
  • Technology
