Training for Individuals Implementing Sexual Harassment Policies and Procedures

On May 19, 2020, the U.S. Department of Education issued a Final Rule under Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972. The full text of the Final Rule and its extensive Preamble are available here. The Final Rule requires that schools make public the materials used to train the individuals who implement its sexual harassment policies and procedures. 

USciences is a member institution of the SUNY Student Conduct Institute (SCI). Individuals serving in the following roles receive training through the SCI.  A link to SCI training materials will be available on this web page soon.

  • Title IX Coordinator
  • Deputy Title IX Coordinator
  • University Investigator
  • Administrative panel for appeals 

Individuals serving in the role of Hearing Officer or Investigator may be a University benefits-eligible employee or an individual external to the University. These individuals must also be appropriately trained. To view the training received by these individuals external to the University, see below.
