Affiliation Agreement with Villanova University College of Nursing

University of the Sciences has an affiliation agreement with the Villanova University College of Nursing that allows you to make a direct entry to nursing school. Our special arrangement with them offers guaranteed enrollment to a total of five qualified USciences students or alumni who meet specific requirements for the Accelerated BSN Program for College Graduates (BSNExpress).

Accelerated BSN Program for College Graduates

The Accelerated BSN Program for College Graduates (BSNExpress) at Villanova University is an intense, 14-month Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree program that incorporates all the standard components of the nursing program in a concentrated timeframe, usually beginning on the third Monday in May and ending in August of the following year.

The Accelerated BSN Program for College Graduates offers:

Eligibility Requirements

USciences students should notify Judy Sun, Pre-Health Professions Advisor, before the end of U3 of their interest in this program and to seek application information. You are eligible to apply provided you meet the following criteria:

  • Completion of the following prerequisite courses or their equivalencies:
    • BS 310, 311 Anatomy and Physiology I & II (6 credits)
    • BS 207, 208 Human Structure and Function I & II Laboratory (2 credits)
    • BS 243 Microbiology (4 credits)
    • BS 219 Basic Nutrition (3 credits)
    • CH 101, 102 General Chemistry I & II (6 credits)
    • CH 103, 104 General Chemistry I & II Laboratory (2 credits)
    • PS 101 Introduction to Psychology(3 credits)
    • PS 200 Psychology of Human Development (3 credits)
    • ST 310 Biostatistics (3 credits) or SS 221, 222  Research Design & Statistical Analysis I & II (8 credits)
    • Humanities
      • 3 credits of coursework in theology/religious studies
      • Remaining 15 credits in Humanities may include, but are not limited to: Writing and Rhetoric I & II (6 credits), Multi-Disciplinary Inquiry (6 credits, including one that meets Ethics skill)
    • Pathophysiology (3 credits) - can be taken online through Villanova University
    • Social/Behavioral Sciences (in addition to PS101 and PS200) (6 credits)
  • No course grade less than a “B”
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • Other evidence of scholarly/professional potential and demonstration of the desire to become a nurse
