The Substance Use Disorders Institute at University of the Sciences will host a one-day event bringing together an array of professionals that play an important role in supporting long-term recovery from opioid and other substance use disorders.

Professionals who would benefit from this event include: private medical practitioners, pharmacists, emergency department staff, behavioral health therapists, and peer recovery support specialists.

During this event, participants will engage in an opening and closing plenary and two moderated symposia sessions. Topics will include:

  • Warm-handoff programs
  • Integration of peer recovery services
  • Low-threshold treatment options
  • Treatment privacy laws
  • Harm reduction initiatives
  • Medical cannabis
