Student Complaint Process for Out-of-State Distance Learning and Field Experience Students

University of the Sciences (USciences) is committed to resolving student grievances, complaints and concerns in an expeditious, fair and amicable manner. Students residing outside of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania while attending USciences who desire to resolve a grievance should follow the University’s Student Grievance Policy, as provided in the most recent USciences Student Handbook. However, if an issue cannot be resolved internally, you may file a complaint with your State. The Student Grievance Contact Information for Individual States provides phone numbers, email addresses and/or links to state education and other agencies.

Maryland Residents:

University of the Sciences is registered with the Maryland Higher Education Commission as an out-of-state institution offering online education to Maryland residents.

Texas:

If a student’s complaint/grievance is not resolved through the Student Grievance Policy outlined in the USciences Student Handbook, the student may initiate a complaint with the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB). The THECB complaint process is initiated by the student submitting a written complaint using the required forms, along with evidence of having completed the University’s Student Grievance process, to either the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, Office of General Counsel, P.O. Box 12788, Austin, Texas 78711-2788 or studentcomplaints@thecb.state.tx.us.  Detailed information regarding the THECB student complaint process as well as access to the required forms is available at this link.  The rules governing student complaints to the THECB are available in Title 19 of the Texas Administrative Code, Part 1, Chapter 1, Subchapter E.
