After You've Applied

So you've applied to transfer to USciences. What happens next?

  1. You may be asked to participate in an interview. Program interviews are required before acceptance into the professional phase of the doctor of pharmacy and doctor of physical therapy programs and are conducted by the PharmD or DPT admission committee by invitation only. Applicants pursuing other majors may be required to interview at the request of the department.
  2. For departments without application deadlines, applications are reviewed on a rolling basis and decisions are typically made between December 15 and May 1. Please be aware that in departments with application deadlines (pharmacy, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and physician assistant studies), all admission decisions are made after that deadline.
  3. You will receive a decision letter stating whether the decision is acceptance, denial, or wait-listed (see below for more information on wait-listing).
  4. If you are accepted, you will receive a letter of acceptance in the mail and information on scholarships for which you may be eligible.
  5. You will receive a transfer credit evaluation 2 to 3 weeks following your acceptance.

Please note:

  • Acceptance as a transfer candidate may not be deferred from one year to the next.
  • If you are not admitted, if you are wait-listed, or if you decide not to enroll, you may reactivate your application once, without an additional application fee, for the next academic year. Note: Applicants to the professional phase of the PharmD program may not use this form. These applicants should re-apply via the Pharmacy College Application Service (PharmCAS).

What happens if you're wait-listed?

  • Your letter will state the length of time the wait-list status is in effect.
  • If space becomes available, all wait-list status applications are reviewed as a group with the most qualified candidates being selected. No rankings are assigned to a wait-list status, nor is a wait-list status a guarantee that a space will become available.
  • Wait list status does not guarantee an acceptance the following year should you choose to reactivate your application.
