Saniyyah Carter
2007 Health Psychology, MS

Reputation matters—at least for Saniyyah Carter. It was USciences’ national and international renown that first attracted her to campus as a graduate student. Its right-sized health psychology program kept her here. “The program was small and intimate,” Carter says. “My professors recognized me as an individual. They were approachable and concerned about my success in the program and beyond.” The program’s practicum placement offers invaluable work experience while pursuing your studies. Carter gained practical hands-on skills at a local social service agency, where she helped match children in foster care and potential adoptive families. “The program helped me to use sound clinical judgment and theories” says Carter, who now works at Methodist Family Services of Philadelphia. “It enabled me to advance and provide more direct clinical services to children.”
