Brijette Buquiran has always dreamed of owning her own business. But she didn’t know the first thing about starting one—that is, until her USciences professors pointed her in the right direction. Network, they said, and then network some more. So Buquiran did just that. Her first step: attending a career fair where she met successful pharmaceutical professionals and lined up initial interviews with their companies. “Networking with high-achieving individuals really motivated me to raise the bar on my own career aspirations,” Buquiran says. “Having such an open and supportive group of professionals on my side has helped me immeasurably.”
