Exercise Science and Wellness Management
Samson College of Health Sciences
When University of the Sciences launched a new program in exercise science and wellness management, it sought someone who could prepare students for the variety of ways in which the degree could be applied, from corporate fitness to strength and conditioning, from collegiate and community recreation to personal training.
In Karin Richards, the University couldn’t have found a better match. Fitness opportunities in corporate America, higher education, and at the community level have given her a wealth of experience whose lessons she wants to pass on. The new program, featuring individual attention, hands-on learning in a myriad of fields, and the chance to complete two internships, gives her ample opportunity to do so.
“This program is for students who are really interested in health and wellness overall but may not necessarily choose to go into a clinical research setting,” Professor Richards says. “It’s for students who want to help the general public better their lifestyle.”
