King's Dream
In celebration of Martin Luther King, Jr., Day, on Jan. 19, the University hosted a performance by King’s Dream that featured images and songs portraying Dr. King and the civil rights movement. In addition to University students, faculty, and staff, 150 students from three local elementary schools attended the event.


On Jan. 30, men’s basketball coach David Pauley invited the Haddon Heights third and fourth grade basketball team to watch the Devils play Dominican University. After the game, the men's basketball team held a practice for the young athletes, followed by a slam dunk session and an autograph signing.

It was back to class on Feb. 12 after the Blizzard of 2010 cancelled classes and events for two days. All told, it took the Facilities Department 923 man hours and 27,800 lbs of salt/calcium chloride to reopen the campus.

James E. Polli P'89; MS, PhD (University of Michigan), is a member of the FDA Advisory Committee for Pharmaceutical Science and Clinical Pharmacology. He is the Ralph F. Shangraw/Noxell Endowed Professor in industrial pharmacy and pharmaceutics at the University of Maryland.

Deanna (DeGiusto) Nickas
P'95 and her husband Thomas announced the birth of twin sons Timothy and Erik on Sept. 22, 2009. Deanna is a pharmacist at CVS in Scranton, Pa.

Marvin J. Silverman
P’52, MS’53 passed away on Dec. 18, 2009. He is survived by his wife, three children, and four grandchildren.
