Despite all the talk about healthcare reform the only thing being talked about is insurance reform. President Obama’s speech to Congress on Sept. 9 highlighted only improvements to insurance coverage and cost reductions primarily through reductions in waste and abuse in the Medicare system. On September 8, Honors Program students and their friends volunteered at the “Red Goes Green” program at Citizens Bank Park, where they picked up recyclable bottles from fans between innings and watched the Phillies beat the visiting Washington Nationals.

1986
David B. Crothers TX’86 and Kristine Foranoce were married on April 26, 2009 in Orefield, Pa. Jeffrey W. Lawrence TX’87 (PhD’92, University of FL) was a groomsman. Dave and Kris live in Henderson, Nev.

1998
Scott R. Keen MPT’98 was recently promoted to CEO of HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Western Massachusetts. He and his family moved to Massachusetts from Pennsylvania, where he was the director of marketing and business development for HealthSouth Reading Rehabilitation Hospital.

2002
Jennifer (Hinkle) Godshall MPT’02 and her husband Brian announced the birth of son Benjamin Lee on March 19, 2008. He joins big brother Brandon. Jennifer is a physical therapist for Grand View Sports Medicine in Sellersville, Pa.

In Memoriam
Elliott S. Herman P’85 lost his battle with bile duct cancer on January 26. He leaves behind a wife and two daughters.
