Gerbino presented his President's Special Achievement Award to Vanessa Jones, an administrative coordinator in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, and Jerome Moore in Facilities Services. Class Notes

Marlene (Boxman) Lamnin P’65 was appointed president of the certification council of the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB), the organization that produces and administers the nationally recognized certification exam for pharmacy technicians. She has served on the council for three years, and has been program director for the pharmacy technology program at Western Career College in San Leandro, Ca., for 13 years.

Philip L. Sheridan TX’84, PhD (University of Colorado) married Negin Iranfar on August 10, 2008. They live in San Diego, Ca.

Nancy (Cassarella) Fritch MPT’99 and her husband Rob welcomed son Nathan William on January 15, 2009. Milissa (Fritch) Havard MPT’93 is the proud aunt. Nancy is a physical therapist in an outpatient facility in Havertown, Pa., where she and her family reside.

Danielle M. Villano HS’04 (MS’05, PCOM) and James R. Landzinski PharmD’04 were married in New Jersey on September 5, 2008.

Alumna Honored for Distinguished Service to Pharmacy Profession

Claudine El-Beyrouty PharmD’00, BCPS, received the Louis P. Jeffrey Award for distinguished service to the profession of pharmacy.

UVM College of Medicine Names Alumnus Senior Associate Dean for Education
Internationally recognized as an accomplished teacher, scholar, and administrator, William B. Jeffries MS’82, PhD’86, will assume the role on August 1.

Alumni Honored With Prominent Pharmacy Award
Recognizing 50 of the top pharmacists in the nation, Wyeth Pharmaceuticals recently presented three alumni with the 2008 Bowl of Hygeia Award.

Pharmacy Alumnus Receives the FDA’s
Commissioner’s Special Citation Award

The FDA honored John A. Gans PharmD’69 for 20 years of leadership in ensuring issues of importance to pharmacists and the APhA are considered in FDA regulatory decision-making.
