Sexual Assault Awareness Week

In recognition of Sexual Assault Awareness Month, the University is sponsoring a week-long awareness campaign that will run from Monday, April 22nd through Friday, April 26th. The goal of Sexual Assault Awareness Week is to encourage every member of our community to get involved in the prevention of sexual assault, and to actively promote respect for every individual.

The University will recognize the importance of this issue by observing Denim Day on Wednesday April 24th. Join us on Denim Day by wearing jeans. In addition, there will be a Clothesline Display all week in the Mercadante Atrium at the ARC, which showcases T-shirts created by survivors of sexual violence as part of their treatment and recovery.

Other activities include collecting old cell phones for the Verizon Hopeline (see collection box outside SHAC entrance), public service announcements, and posters/ flyers around campus with educational information about sexual assault and consent.
